So in the early summer of 2003, the Boxster was converted to daily driving duty, the C2 was sold, and a 2000 GT3 Cup was purchased! The GT3 Cup is an amazing car. It is not hard to understand why they are so popular with track junkies! The Cup is extremely easy to drive and very fast. The brakes on the car are simply unbelievable! That said, Charlie's favorite aspect of the car was its shifting. The shifting on the car was effortless. If you have ever wondered how those racers you see on TV execute three downshifts in two seconds, you would understand if you drove a GT3 Cup. Unfortunately, as they say, all good things must come to an end. Unfortunately, Charlie's run with the GT3 cup was short lived. So in the winter of 2003, the Cup was sold. Continuing to be unsatisfied with Chickster, which after the Cup purchase had been turned to daily driving duty, the Chickster was also sold in the winter 2004. Replacing both cars was Charlie's long time dream machine, a 1994 Turbo 3.6. Charlie flew out to Arizona to purchase what was soon lovingly called "Tubbo". Tubbo was driven cross country to its new home in New Jersey. It was not long before “Tubbo” evolved into a track star. Although the original intent behind the purchase was for the car to serve dual street and track purpose, this intent was short-lived. The stock suspension could not accommodate the needed camber to make effective use of track tires. Thus the car evolved. With Colin’s arm-twisting, Charlie started PCA Club Racing. Through racing Tubbo’s thoroughbred ancestry started to show through. The car proved to be a very competent race car with very few modifications.
